Welcome!

It is with sincere gratitude that I have the opportunity to connect with you to collaborate on our shared vision of increasing literacy skills through specific research and evidence-based practices and programming.  As parents and educators, we have the honor and responsibility to develop competent, successful, and emotionally secure learners, leading the way for a positive and productive future.  Not only do proficient literacy skills allow us to become independent, confident adults, but it opens doors for numerous opportunities that allow us to share our unique gifts with the world, making it a better place for all.

As a certified speech-language pathologist in the public education system for 25 years, it was not until my role as parent that I was able to “make sense of the noise” regarding conflicting educational practices.  I found that to ensure my own children were successfully growing academically and emotionally, essential academic skills needed to be truly understood and taught in the correct manner and sequence.  The unique perspective that we share as parents and educators, leads to a moral responsibility to share our concerns, questions, failures, and accomplishments, while at the same time feeling safe to do so.

A combination of professional and personal experiences gives us better insight in being able to take the research and apply it to produce real life outcomes.  Through my specialized language-literacy training, years of work as a speech-language pathologist, and experiences as a parent,  I have been fortunate to not only learn what what works to develop proficient readers, but able to put it to the test to produce consistent results.

While it only takes one voice to start the conversation and produce change for a better world starting within our homes, schools and neighborhoods, it also takes a village to act and move with the information that leads to true, consistent transformation.

As you engage on this journey, I encourage you to plan for your voice to be heard next as we continue to "pay it forward" for a brighter future for literacy in our families, schools, and society.

I am grateful for the opportunity to connect and share my voice!
